Valve body suppliers... where did you get yours?

...and is it ok to mix different brands when upgrading the tranny?

This is my plan:

Suncoast Billet flexplate (ordered)
Suncoast TC
Transgo shift kit

Can I throw a Goerend valvebody into the mix and be ok? How much is a decent valve body anyways?

I'd go georend all the way. Give Dave a call and talk to him tell him what your plans are for the truck and he will put together what would work the best for you. But that is just my opinion.

I'd go woth Georend as well. He will tell you what the best setup for your truck would be, and I'm sure his prices are cheaper than Suncoast.

Goerend everything in my opinion, ruquik (1st gen forum member) had a fully built suncoast A518 built and he had a few different problems with it, one of them being no reverse half way home from florida (hes in delaware ).

I see alot of guys running Goerend stuff in 900hp third gens, id go with dave goerend on everything in my opinion. if you didnt already order the stuff from suncoast.

Suncoast sells you off the shelf stuff in there place, goerend sells you custom made converters and valve bodies, tell him what you have and what your doing with the truck and what your budget it and hell make the parts for your needs

The valve body also needs to make enough pressure for the TC to operate properly. I'd say go with a matching VB/TC setup, whoever you go with. JM2C

Guys, This is an A518. No line pressures used in the non lock-up converter.

But thanks for playing!

I run the Suncoast converter and get very good service from it. As others have pointed out, with the age of our trucks and their numbers declining, you'll be hard-pressed to find somebody that stocks a ready-made VB for the A518.
PATC http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm can supply all the parts to modify your own.
