Valve Adjustment without timing pin?
Valve Adjustment without timing pin?
Since I got my rig together, it's been bugging me that I haven't set the valves.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to get the timing pin to move (probably just need a bigger hammer, but it's tiny and I don't want to destroy it).
Does anyone know of a way to set the gap on the valves without having the timing pin show TDC?

^^^ companion method is clearly laid out in the sticky, which is how I did mine. Means turning the crank a lot, so turning the alternator does that quite well. I needed knee pads as I was perched on top of the rad for longer than my knees could handle, ...
thanks fellas ... been through the sticky many many times, but just figured the second link about how to adjust valves was the DTR/picture version of the instruction manual first link ... opps
