I may be biased but I really dont think there is such a thing as an ugly 1st gen. they just look mean. Now 2nd and 3rd gen's...uuuummm...well...atleast theres alot of aftermarket stuff for them.

This one got the conversion in a weeks time, I had good help tho still working out little bugs, but it sure does run nicer than the ol big block did.

Im real partial to the old style body lines myself, just something about the curves. Unfortunately, the old truck has some cancer, and the pic doesnt really show the fact that its spraybombed. Amazing how well white hides all the sins, lol.

Yep! Them real early First Gens are some curvy beautiful trucks!!!

I drove a 78 350 club cab stake bed for a while in the 79-80 time frame but it had a 318 w/granny low 4 speed and couldn't really get out of it's own way!

Kinda hope my 2500 lasts a loooooong time!

Is This Ugly Enough?

Please observe the anti-glare finish on the hood(rust).

Never washed, never waxed.

Best compliment was when a burly truck driver came in the plant we were doing contracting at and gruffly inquired "whose red Dodge is that".
Sheepishly I replied; " it's mine, am I blocking your way?"
No, he replied, "I just wanted to meet the guy that used a truck like a truck" and then something derogatory about bed waxers.

An equally ugly 24 valve conversion, looks like heck, but really improves the driveability in comparison to the governed low RPM '92 engine.
A NV4500 ended worries of the old Getrag crapping out 500 miles from home on a towing trip.
Check out the copper bars on the battery terminals, makes jump starting machinery much easier.

Wow. What did it take to put a 24 valve in there? I have always kinda wondered about a P-pumped 24 valve for my first gen, but those are both cuss words that could get me kicked off of here.

Wow, you put a VP44 pumped engine into a 1st gen. AHHH!!!

ahh well. Cool conversion, you're probably the only one to put a complete 24v w/VP44 into a 1st gen.

I would of just upgraded the exhaust housing and turned the pump up on the old 92 engine.

i was gunna put a P-pumped 24v in my 92 W150 before i sold it. But here's my truck. bought the blue 1990 2wd for $2300 when i was 16 and tried making it 4wd, didnt work so hot so bought the white and silver 1992 W250 for $1000 with no engine when i was 17, took both and made one truck, both were 5spds. The blue box got crushed at our senior bon fire when a drunk kid hit it and ran....i think his teeth are layin in that swamp somewhere. bought the gray box for $100. she's come along way but still has a ways to go flippin money pit

the pics with the mudflaps are current except she has chrome center caps in the back.

Member on CompD has a 24V with a P pump at over 800hp in a 1st GEN. As light as that truck is, THAT one would be a fun driver..
