U-Bolts for Dana 80?

Where do you get the U-Bolts to install the Dana 80 on our 1st Gen?
Also what size and length do they have to be for a D350?

Depends on the size of the spring pack and if a block is used.

I always upgrade to 5/8 bolts

hey-Hey!!!,
I got mine from Michigan Truck Spring. 5/8", Grade 8. THey wereone of the better priced options, and for me UPS Ground was effectively Next Day shipping. Nice hardware and no issues with the fit. Measure how long you'll need and add an inch or so for nuts and get the next size longer than that.

The shock mount is *ALMOST* large enough to use; the holes are punched. Drill them out to 5/8" and you're good to go.
cheers,
Douglas

Will the original u-bolts from the Dana 80 work because I can ask the person that I got the rear end from if he still has them?
Are they also 5/8"?
If the u goes from the axle up, what do you use across the top of the spring to attach the nut to?
Will the Dana 80 spring support match our spring position?
Also what about the shock support?

hey Bruce,
I can only say, 'don't re-use U-bolts'. They're only supposed to be stretched into service *ONCE*.
cheers,
Douglas

Do you use the existing plate with the shock support below the axle and increase the hole size for a 5/8" U-bolts?
Also will the Dana 80 spring supports match our spring position?

Yes, I just drilled out the plate with shock mount to 5/8". I have no idea about the rest of the fitting question I've only done this when I swapped out a 4.10 open rear for a rebuilt 3.07 posi rear...both Gen 1 D70's.
cheers,
Douglas
