Twins build
It is a cast iron housing. I haven't had a problem with no pre-heat and ss rod on the turbine housings, on manifolds I have used pre and post heating along with Nickel 99 rod and stick welded it, even used mild steel mig wire once and no problems either. The cast doesnt weld half bad at all. I keep the tacks even along with the first few beads to prevent pulling and cracking. The high carbon content is the cause of the cracking common to cast iron.

Wow! I use my kiln to heat the part to almost glowing before I even attempt to weld cast. This is great info, I wouldn't have even though of using stainless wire to weld cast.
Well the twins are in and tuning has begun. I did have to lenghten the hot pipe to drop and angle the primary slightly as the outlet was heading right for my heater box. All is good though as the cold pipe remained the same. I have added a retaining strap on the secondary discharge outlet and will be adding one from the primary as well since the boots are blowing off. As of now boost is right at 40psi with the primary making around 22psi and the gate opening around 25psi. I would like to see if I could get boost into the 55psi area.
Mods are:
hx35/50
354 spring
7x.010's 158* sac nozzle
~1/8" bump
HP piston pump w/holley reg.
Torqued head bolts @135lb/ft
home ground pin, afc set tight, load screw somewhere near runaway.
Nothing too crazy really, still smokes pretty good. Need to get boost up some. Pics!

Modded gate
