Turning Pump back down
Talked with the previous owner of my truck the other day about how much my pump is turned up and the high egts. He claims 5 1/2 turns. Thinking about turning it back down some until I get my water/meth. How much should I turn it back down?
Well, If you have guages I would back it down untill you are happy with all your readings.. Every truck varries, Back the full pwr screw out a turn or two, re adjust idle.. Take it for a burn.. Do that untill your happy..
Most of the trucks that I've messed with there is about .700 from the end of the pwr screw to the backside of the jam nut. That is a stock truck. 2-3 turns in puts it at about .550 to .600 out.. Then the low idle is usally like .200-.250 out..

That smoke looks fine.
It clears up fast, thats about normal for a stock injectored truck with stock fuel pin.
In my opinion I think you may have an epic boost leak.
You have all that turbo with stock injectors and stock fuel pin and you're even talking about turning the pump down...something just don't sound right

I checked all my IC boots and they look fine. It hits 42 psi and blows the waste gate no problem. I dont want to turn it down, but I dont want to melt it down either. I know if it is a 62/65/?? the only options it shows on their site is for a 14 cm or 12 cm turbine housing. The previous owner installed it. I would guess by reading the site and the moderate fuel upgrade he went with the suggested 12cm housing but not sure.

I really want more power and plan to order a water/meth kit in the next few days along with a fuel pin, but I will be pulling my boat on a 2 hr trip for the 4th and dont want problems with the egts. Dont think it will be pulled it on the highway earlier and only got to about 950 after the turbo and that was lugging on a slight grade it to see how hot it would get. Just wanting to get an idea incase it starts getting hot I can pull over and back it down some.
No trailer? 8 or 9 if I am really getting on it hard! With the boat I didnt get in a hurry, just ran the gears up and shifted and got 800-900. After I got to a cruising speed it came back to about the normal 600-700 range. It really only heats up if I dont spool over 10-15 psi, anything under that and it rises pretty quick. But with a trailer of any size I see no reason to get in a hurry.

i think with that turbo you have to keep the rpms up to stay cool, how is you intercooler working?
with what i have i can hit about 1300* pre turbo with the trailer on by 55mph lead footing it. i think i have 190 injectors and my fuel screw is in untill it stoped.
with that big turbo you should have any issues with heat and stock injectors

Pressureize the Intercooler system. GEt a spray bottle of soapy water and spray it on EVERYTHING with about 30 psi running through the system.

IF you pressureize the whole sytem all you'll need is a Boot the diameter of the turbo inlet with a peice of PCV pipe clamped in it with a valve in the end so you can hook your air hose right up to it. Hook it right up to the front of the turbo (inlet).... (SEE PIC BELOW) BE sure to adjust your air compressor regulator down to 25-30 psi, as soon as you hook up the air line to the pcv pressure tester, it will start pressurizing until it hits whatever its set at.
