Turn signals operate radio...

When I engage the the blinkers - the radio cuts out momentarily, but it comes back on after a few seconds and then works uninterupted no matter how long the turn signals blink. Both left and right do this but "right turn" doesn't always.

Looking at the wiring diagram I see that both feed off the same supply line but are fused seperately. Could I have a bad ground in the turn signal circuit that interupts the radio? What else could cause this anomoly? Any ideas?

Thanks,

you could have a bad ground I would also pull the fuse block out flip it over and look at all the rivets and connectors to see if there tight and not burnt also check that the power wire is coming from the radio circuit

Turns out it was a bad regulator. I was low on juice so the turn signal canceled out the radio.

External regulator mod is the problem...

The new Mopar regulator only temporarily fixed the problem. Still had charging issues. So I started eleminating circuits to find the culprit, all to no avail.

Out of desperation I unhooked the external regulator and hooked it back up to the PCM and everything is back to normal - including the flickering lights which is why I bypassed the PCM to begin with. So now I have the choice of sometimes charging or pulsating lights...

Why would the PCM bypass work for others but not me? I followed the sticky instructions.

Most times that flickering is caused by the bulkhead connector. They corrode over time.

Hmmm, I'd tried everything BUT that. Cleaned & added new grounds, etc. By 'bulkhead" you mean the transition block on the firewall where that mass of wires plug in?

That's the bulkhead.
