Turbo upgrades

I have a 93 auto and i want to know what would be the best turbo upgrade. Which turbo would work best. Or which compressor or turbine housing would work best. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks

Depends on what the truck will be used for.

For an auto truck under or around 400rwhp, I would suggest a Super HX40. Even if you tow, it is a very good charger.

A S300 (62/71/14) will support more rwhp, but is laggier so it isn't the best choice for a truck that will tow a lot.

Don't worry about the people who say you ill break a shaft on the HX40. How many 1st genners have done so? Not many. The reason shafts break is because guys who have no business running the turbo (usually high hp P-Pump guys) push it beyond its limits and it breaks. A VE truck would be hard pressed to break a Super HX40, in my opinion.

Just put an HX40 on mine.
60/65/17 - mild....Only prob was the flange was an HX50 inhstead of a T3..
Scared enough away that I stole it.

Simple adapter and my egts are down 100* at 45 mph. Gonna baby it for a week or so until I'm sure all the fittings are tight.

The ports are slightly larger than a T3 but not as much as you'd expect. And with an auto that was spinning an 18.5, I think this 17 will be ok.
