Turbo/turbine options

I'm trying to figure out what to replace my H1C with as its starting to get too much play in the shaft. I did a bunch of searching on here and can't be sure if a stock HX-35 is the way to go. I wonder if the 12cm turbine is going to be too small and hot for towing with my present mods. It seems like a lot of guys have changed the 12 out for a 14. My EGT's are 1150 max wot climbing hills empty and boost peaks at 32psi in 5th. Or should I buy the PDR HX-35 with a 14cm turbine and have room to turn the fuel up more and grind the fuel pin.

Any suggestions ?

If you can afford it, an HTB2 would be a good move at this point. A PDR-35 is no better than what you have now.

I don't think I can afford it plus the 4" outlet means losing my exhaust brake or upgrading that to a 4" inline brake.I can afford the PDR 35 but you say its no better than my HTT stage 4, will it perform as good ? Or maybe the easiest thing is to find a H1C thats is good shape and swap it in and put the Stage 4 on it?!

That's a good plan. A PDR-35 is actually a little smaller than the Stage IV.

I had a PDR HX35 on my nonIC 91- bought it used, ran it 70K mi, and sold it along with the truck, and is still going strong. I dont think it is a bad turbo, and buying it new, you will know what you are getting. You dont always get that security with a used HX35, esp if it's from a 215hp 12valve engine that got a plate and injectors. PDR also does internal mods to the turbo to help oiling and airflow.
