Truck does not fire right up on cold start it hesitates?

Hey all,

after reading this post: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=124326

it got me thinking that mine use to start everytime with in 1-2 secs of turning the key with no problems.

but after my ordeal with my Inj Pump rebuild
post here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=114907

it takes a few revoltuions to start.. and then when it starts it puffs som white smoke and it acts like it is hesitating a little..then after about 10 more secs it levels out white smoke goes away and it idols smooth..

I talked to the guy that built the pump and he told me that he tuned my pump for me and he put in the 3200 spring and he turned up the idol a little bit when tuning the pump..

so my question is: Do others have this same problem?
Is it a problem?
and why does it not fire like it used to??

Specs of truck for reference:
92 W250, staright exhaust, with rebuilt tuned pump, and that is all..
everythign else is stock..

Thanks

Doesn't sound normal, mine kicked right off after sitting all week. I would suspect an leak somewhere letting a little bit of air into the system.

Is it only acting up when it cold? if so check or air heaters.

If not.......a bump in the time might help a lot!

I'm with Mike. I'd look for an air leak in the supply side.
