trans prob
my buddy has a 93 cummins that the trans is stuck in first gear and the truck will not go it acts like there is to much of a load on it and just dies does anybody have any ideas what it could be

I would say it is stuck in two gears, locking the trans internally. The operation of the shifter is explained in the sticky. I would pull the sifter out and look in the hole. There are 3 rods that move forwards and backwards. When its in neutral they should all be in the "middle".

sorry it is my buddies truck it is a getrag manual and i just went and looked at it and it is not stuck in gear but is harder to shift and u give it gas and it acts like u are holdin the brake and just dies if u give it gas it will slip the clutch he said it just started grindin and trans got real loud then it died
