I got one and I love it, but mine's a 3 disc lockup type. I would also suggest a good shift kit or a full valve body too.

Chances are you roasted the rear band already if it was partially applied. If you have a way hook a pressure gauge to it I would do so before you drop the pan. Going to need a 500psi gauge because reverse line pressure is pretty high, My book isn't handy right now, but at idle is should be over 120psi and WOT could be upwards of 280psi or more. There are ports on the passenger side of the trans, it is the 3rd one back from the front, you'll see the where the front and rear servo are in the trans case. The plugs are 1/8" pipe thread. You could have an internal leak in the valve body or servo.

When you drop the pan, look for debris in the pan and burnt fluid. Check the rear band and see if you can adjust it. Chances are your looking at dropping the trans to fix this, I'm sure you already figured that.

A good stock rebuilt with a good valve body should hold just about anything you can through through a non-lockup torque converter.
