Bump.

I'm also in need of a good towing mirror system on my 1st gen - any suggestions? I've been using the plastic slip-over ones meant for the early gen 2's, but they're not big enough, and they vibrate like crazy at highway speeds. I'd like some that extend out like newer ones do, even if it's not fancy and powered.

If they are like mine,on my 92 350 dulie, i loosened the bolt in the bottum of the mirror and put the left on the right and right on the left, thes reversal puts them outside of the crome supports and gives you a good view and they are pretty stable.

No, mine are more like the Chuvy style - a 90 degree curved pipe from the mount to the mirrow, the mount is below the window only.

I was thinking about using the stock mirrors and make a telescoping mount, like but shinnier (?) than the new (old) Chevy mirrors.

Mirrors

**** makes a set of mirrors for the 1st gen trucks. They look just like stock but they have an allen screw that you loosen ant they extend out about 5 or so inches. Do a search for ****. BTW they are not electric.

Old Dude,
if yours are the chrome or "stainless' towing mirrors, all you had to do is turn the heads over & then spin them inward or outward, just a thought in case you ever wanted to turn them back in, thought that might save ya a little trouble vs. unbolting both heads & switching sides again???? those bolts can be some mothers to break loose sometimes, just a thought, Dusty
