Too Much Money??

A buddy of mine has a 91.5 250 CTD for sale. It is a real pretty truck. It has about 152,000 miles on it originial motor and transmission (i think), single cab, 4WD, auto door locks, power windows, tilt wheel, 33 in tires, w/ I believe 4in Superlift on it, minimal rust, and body is in super condition

The only things wrong w/ it (that I know of) are: driver's side door is jacked up, will close but you have to mess w/ it, aoutmatic window on passenger side is broken (have to pull it up w/ ur hands) and the seatbelt have to be tightened (retracted) w/ ur hands.

He is asking $8000, but the truck only books @ $5100 and some change through KBB.com.

Should I forget about it or what should I do???

Thanks,
BigBruno4

My opinion is 6500.00 tops. I bought a 93 4x4 ext cab le auto with 188000 miles. I got it in good shape except the paint for 5000.00. 30,000 miles later still runnin great.

That's exactlyy what I was told to offer him by a buddy of mine!! You're right on the money! It's a great looking truck, smoookes like a csx locomotive and drives and shifts great! But I just cant justify paying $8000 for something only worth about $5100!!

KBB has no way of accurately accounting for supply and demand. i agree that you can find trucks cheaper but a truck is worth what people are willing to pay for it. and if it's fairly clean i'm sure there are plenty of people out there willing to pay $8000. the old a vehicle get i think KBB gets farther and farther off as far as actual street value is concernec. but if you think it's worth $6500 offer that, worst he can say is no! (oh and KBB has no way to account for lift and things like that.)
