Too clean inside intercooler

What's the matter? No trace of oil or grime. 14k miles ago, before I installed this powerstroke intercooler, it was full of oil deposit and grime. I had to put diesel and rinse it thoroughly with Dawn detergent.

Today while replacing my radiator, i noticed the spotless intercooler. Any ideas?

You are upset because you don't have a mess inside? Or am I reading that wrong?

I think you are reading that right.

Could be that the mess in that p/s i/c was from its donor. Unless you were talking about the original i/c, which had a lot more miles to make the mess you aren't seeing.

Not upset, but why is it so clean, whereas the in the donor truck (a Ford of course) it was messy.

The powerstroke has the PCV routed into the air intake, hence the oily mess.
