Tire info and Opinions.

well, ive only had my truck about 6 months now and unfortunatly its time to start thinking about tires. since im such a broke **** **** im gonna need to purchase them one by one for the next couple of months.

most definatly it will be an All Terrain. im just not sure what i should do about size. currently i have LT 265 75 R16's. aesthetically i think they look too small; but what im more concerned with is what tire will yield me the best mileage.

what manufacturer have you guys had the best experience with, and what isnt going to leave me completely broke after buying one tire at a time!

Well I have heard that the Toyo m55 in that size 265/75 16 load range e last and last and last... and they have the best traction out there. but they'll cost you over 200 a piece.

See if you can find Hankooks they have stronger side wall constrution then most of the "national" brands and deeper lugs ,most of the logging companys up here use them on there field sevice trucks. I run them on this and my last daully, about 70% cost of ltx's and 60% of toyo's . edit if you are not hauling heavy camper or gear then most any tire will do.

i recently put the american prospector a/t on my 91... 265/75 were $104 installed with lifetime rotation and all that. i went with the 285/75 and they were like $120 a piece... i've only got like 3-4k on them but i've been very pleased so far... considering the last tires i bought were 235/85 BFG ta ko's for $145 a peice i am real happy. the prospector is a 50k mile tire, but running a 285 on a 6 inch rim i don't expect that much out of them.

I had a set of LT235/85R16E120/116Q RBL BFGoodrich Commercial T/A from Sams club and they only lasted 20K had a 50k mileage warranty but I had to jump through hoops walk on a bed of hot coals just to get them to replace them. Needless to say I paid about half for a replacement set and more than likely won't be going back there!!

I have used Kumho's on a car and thought they were good for a cheap tire. , I plan on trying them when I buy new tires for my truck this summer.

I ran some Khumo MTs before the current Truxus they were a very good tire other than being a 16.5 and seemed to be harder to keep in ballance. But treadwear was very good actually some of the better that I have seen. I wouldn't be afraid to run them again.

Well we have been running some retreads on my dads work truck: 84 chevy C20 4x4 and they are 8 yrs old. only problem we had is that they are old and side walls are getting weak. and the guy im looking at getting them hasa warranty on them so if i can prove it is therre fault they fix it. but im only looking for now.

Has anyone found cheap 315 75R16???

I got a set of Goodyear Wrangler silent armour in 235/85R16 put on my truck and they are great! The tires are a 10 ply E range tire, so they are good for a load. They are sort of like an all terrain, not totally but they give decent grip off road. They are a really quiet ride and are supposed to have a decent tread life. They are much better than the 3 different brand of bald tires I had on there before from the previous owner
