Throttle linkage mod

Today I moved the throttle linksge up one hole and the return springs down. The truck is much more responsive but I dont like how it made the pedal harder. I dont know if I can get used to the harder pedal I am going to try it for a few days. Also I adjusted the high speed screw I had to back it out 2 full turns to get wide open throttle. Now she goes good. Thanks alot for all the great info guys my truck has come a long way and it is all thanks to you guys.

How many springs are going from the linkage on the pump to the timing cover?

from the factory theres two doubled up. remove one of them and it will be much nicer.

Ya the first day after i did this it was hard to get used to the harder pedal. Been about a week now and everything is good i cant even tell anymore.

Congrats on the mods! Keep it up! It addicting. I went over a year without touching the truck. I decided to do some pump mods about a week ago and every since i have done nothing but thinking i want more

Go to the hardware store and get a weaker spring. If your pump has the torsion style return spring on the pump, just leave the pull-type springs off.

A torsion type spring is like the kind on clothes pins, it wraps around the throttle shaft.

Do some pumps not have this spring?

Some non-intercooled trucks don't have it.
