I hate the tires...they might be ok on a SRW but on a DRW they walk all over the road on the rear because the tread is so soft and there kinda crowned in the middle, if i pull it in the shop with the tires at rated psi theres only about an inch and a half touching the ground, if i run them at 28-30 psi empty they are drivable but they are very bad with 70psi on an empty truck.

I tell ya exactly what it feels like, it's like i'm hauling a 1,000gal tank thats only half full, ya know when you get the water sloshin how it feels like it won't stop going back and forth.

First off I hate this thread because I have always wanted a first gen dually, and second I love old alcoa wheels. What are the dimensions of these? Will buying a set for a ford or chevy work? I know they made some for mid 90's ford and chevy's, but not sure if they will work or not. I bet it will look amazing.

I've been told chevy 8 bolts wont fit a dodge or ford I have not tried but I know ford 8 bolts will fit on a dodge 8 bolt axle.

Chevy's (Post 87 I believe) need the centers opened up. The bolt pattern is fine but the centers are too small.

Ford and Dodge interchange.

OK, so if understand correctly you can find some alcoa dually wheels from a ford and they will work on a first gen dodge?

As long as the Ford ones are pre 1998, pre Superduty. They went metric with those.

Well I've decided not to convert my old Dodge, I figure why mess with perfection

I mean look at this it just looks "Right"

However I'm gonna do something I've been wanting to do for the last 10 years or so now that I have the means, most of the parts and the ability to.

I'm gonna do a 12v swap on my old 67 C20 and run duals.

Plans are VE 12v, NV4500, Home made bed, a 2/3 drop (maybe bag it) and Satin Black paint.

Couple pics

BTW I have now stripped all the clear off the wheels and now need to rub em out to get rid of a few imperfections.

I have been thinkin about this for a while, don't you think you could use a 67 step side fender on a fleetside bed to make a dually bed ? ? ? ?

I'm thinkin this will be freekin sweet.
