I got my front out put seal in for the transfer case but I having the hardest time getting the old one out. Usually I can get a screw driver and bend the metal enough to work it out but this one is being difficult. Does any one have a different way of getting these things out?
If you have access to a small slide hammer you could put a hole in the seal with a drill bit or a self tapping screw then attach the slide hammer to the screw and pull it out that way. Just be gentle not to break the screw. Or if the slide hammer has a small hook you could also use that. Hope this helps.

if you dont have slidehammer you can get a piece of wood or metal drill holes in it the same dia. as the seal space it off the surface about an inch or so then run scew though holes the head will stop on wood or metal and you can use screw driver back and fourth with 4 screws to pull it out hope this makes sense it does in my head i used thid a few times
You have the seal retainer removed from the case? It's the aluminum piece bolted to the front of the t-case that the seal is seated in. Remove, tap out the old seal from the backside with anything, screwdriver, punch and hammer. Then tap the new one in from the front side of the retainer. Use a 2x4 or large socket.
