So, moving the top of the pump toward the head advances timing. I might be backwards on this, but looking at the front of the motor, taking the gear off the pump and rotating it one tooth to the right should advance the timing, right? I tried this last night (my pump was all the way advanced, i.e. no room to go on the slots but the stock timing marks matched up) and it idles slower, and smokes like a volcano...blueish whitish smoke...it's real quiet too...I'm gonna go out and move it one tooth the other way and see what happens...doesn't make sense to me, but I'm prolly messed some in one way or another, thanks,
