TDR/Geno's Have No Faith In Our Trucks!!!
I was reading my catalog from Geno's Garage this morning and they have an article in there from TDR about lift pumps and their importance on a Cummins engine.
They have a chart that tells what lift pump you need for each B Series engine at various power levels. I scanned down to the 89-93 section and here's what it says.
"Recommended pump for 89-93 Cummins making over 400 hp: How did you get over 400 hp with the Bosch VE fuel injection pump?"
These guys been under a rock for 10 years or what?

When I called down for a fuel pressure gauge they told me with a VE pumped truck a fuel gauge was not needed because the stock lift pump will supply more fuel then it could burn and also the VE pump was lubed by oil from the engine. I explained that was not the case, and he got all miffed. He said " Well I'm not going to fight about it ". They really have no knowledge of the first gen trucks.
Yeah i've read the same thing and it ****** me off. It makes me want to keep the VE even more and prove more people wrong (a few other shops I know that don't know or respect the VE pump). I like their store and all but things like that make me mad.
This is how I feel when you go to a site and they have nothing for performance on a 1st gen but got a list of turbos and other parts for 2nd gens. And all the 2nd gen stuff bolts on and works just fine on the 1st gens. It gets annoying having to go to 2nd gen parts pages dangit.
