Lower tailgate mount was getting worn out, so 1.1 inches of PVC and some grease..

 

So how did you fasten it to the tailgate?

 

Its under tension. I had to compress it with channel locks to slide it in. Add grease and then set the tail gate back on the pin. This was the passenger side. The drivers side will probaby need like copper tube/thinner wall, than the PVC.
