Tach for 1st gen 1993

What make and model Tach will work with the 1993 diesels, I 'v heard of one thru the postings, an after market tach that plugs right into a plug under the dash. Or a make and model of one that can be wired in. Is this truck pre-wired for tach.

Isspro

Isspro makes a tach that plugs directly into the factory harness @ the bottom of the column.

I looked on Isspro's website and I only found a harness for a 92? Could you post the link on where I can order one of the direct plug in tachs?

Thanks
Lucas

When I was looking for a tach for my 92, I called Isspro and they did have the tach that I wanted. but the harness was a seperate part. I dont remember what the price was, but I do remember hitting my head as I fell over.and I would think that the 92 and 93 are the same harness.

See this thread, especially the top two lines in the list of ISSPRO gages the man lists:

Manganos, I've got that triple-gage pod on the right side like you do. I'm looking for one for the left side where you have your tach. Do you recall who made the triple pod?

Tx, DBF

Banzaitoyota, yes I am. See PM to you. DBF

What year did the "plug in the wiring harness" tach hook up begin? All first gens or with the ICed models?

The gauge pod was in there when I bought the truck. You may want to check with Fred Swanson. He will probably know where to get another one.

Only IC'd models. Some early 91.5 IC'd models did not come equipped with the tach plug in. DBF, www.usgear.com makes the 2-5 gauge dash mount. I have a 3 3/8" Isspro alternator tach. Hooks up to the alt. For those without the tach plug in. Pics in gallery.

Banks offers the pod in one, two, three, and four hole. I got mine from scheid diesel and they are offered in left or right side dash kits. Mine is a three hole like manganos cost around $64.00 shiping and all. The tach hook ups that ispro make are not the same for the intercooled and non intercooled they are nothing a like. Get one that uses a crank sender they are better than the alt tachs. The ispro tach kits cost around $320.00

Easy way to tell if you have a tach plug: Look on the firewall above the engine for a voltage regulator. If you have one, you don't have a tach plug.

I will have to check that one out. On my 91.5 I have the voltage regulator on the firewall but also have a factory top of dash tach. If thats the case it hooks up differently and I might just switch it to the 89.
