Synthetic oil in fuel tank. WMO
i know like a 25/75 mix of motor oil and diesel can be ran..but would if its synthetic. Will it work? is it not recommended? my dad said something about synthetic oil was designed many years ago to NOT burn. And this may be an issue with trying to burn it. thanks. Brandon
I asked my dealer/friend , and said that it would burn OK .
I've been running my WMO through an old dual by pass filter set [ 2 micron ] , then through a centrifuge [ 1/10th micron ] lots of soot in the centrifuge .

I run between 10% and 30%, depending on how much oil I have available.
I'm gonna go pick up a couple 55 gallon drums of used oil, so I'll probably start running 50% and leave the rest of my cars parked, especially if the upcoming hurricane sends fuel prices back up.

I run 50/50 most of the time. I've always been told not to run syn fluids through. I don't know why? But I listen to old timers(my dad/grandpa) when they are talkin, they have a few more years under their belt then me and must know something I don't?

The bio diesel has higher cetane than #2 , but lower BTUs , so a little oil helps with lower BTUs .
I used to use 25-30% bio & 70-75% #2 , for best performance .
But because of the high diesel prices , I'm going with something like 60% bio 20% #2 and 20% WMO .
