Synthetic Grease?

I'm going to try it for the wheel bearings. What about all the other grease points?? Will it mix ok? or should I use a blend and then go to synthetic? Or am I throwing money away and should i just use normal grease for everything?

I use Mobil 1 grease. I dunno if it reallly works much better, but a tube of it lasts me a couple years, so even at double the cost of conventional grease it's not a big expense.

I've been useing synthetic grease for quite a few years now. I switched after looseing a couple wheel berrings and i haven't lost even one since switching. I use it for all berrings, U-joints and the front end of my pu's. I also use it in the high load area's of my tractors like the front end pivot ect...

If i was you, i'd just start useing it for everything on your pu, as over a years time it really doesn't add all that much to the cost of maintance.

From a cost point of view its not much more so I don't mind. Is mobil grease the only show in town? all of the big 3 auto parts stores and thats the only synthetic grease.

I have been using Amsoil Heavy Duty grease on my Peterbilt, (and everything else I own for 13 years). 1,286,642 miles, still has all original tie rod ends and kingpins, pins starting to wear a little , ends still tight. Grease every 5000. Most Napa's sell Amsoil.
