Swapping injector tips
Is it that straight forward of a swap? Could one take 370 2nd Gen tips and put them on 1st Gen bodies and install the springs with washers the exact way they came out? Would that keep the same pop pressure? Is it that simple or are other things involved?
Doesn't the spring inside the injector body control pop pressure? If you are just swapping tips, then yes, I believe it is just that, swap the tips and install in the truck. If you don't mess with the spring, then pop pressure should stay the same.

I've got Bosch 190's in there now. I just thought it was too simple to pull them out and put 370 tips on them. On another note, my father called me yesterday and I heard about your revisiting snowfall.
I don't know why it wouldn't work though...
our snowfall? i didn;t get any real snow where i'm at but i guess somepeople did. Thomas

Then again, you're talking to an island boy. Everywhere is "close" over here. Maybe he just further north than you.
ridgefeild is a ways up there and i'm at a lowly 300ft above sea level. its just cold here, stays about 32*f all day
This is still off topic, but we got about 3" inches or so in Battle Ground, and a little over an inch in Vancouver where I work, course it was gone by noon.
On the injectors, this is just my limited understanding, but the injector bodies are the same size for all 12 valves. The tips just have different spray angle's between a first gen and a second gen. I don't know if the different tip sizes in a first gen make a difference in the tips being interchangeable, but tips from a second gen should fit a first gen body, with the wrong spray angle of course.
I think most people get new injectors for a couple reasons, one of which is the higher mileage most of our trucks have on them. New injectors should be better than 250,000 mile injectors with the same flow rate, in theory. When I go to upgrade my injectors I am going to ask about just doing the tips, since I'm cheap.

My 190's have about 50,000 miles on them, which is why I wanted to be cheap myself and just swap the tips. But how good will that work? I forgot all about the different spray angle on the 2nd Gen. tips. May as well just run POD's.
