Surging idle/ best source for injectors?

I've got a pretty good surge at idle. Sounds exactly like when a diesel is running out of fuel. Lift pump is good and I ran it off of an alternate fuel source and it still does it.

I need ideas to diagnose and repair.

Also looking for best all around supplier of stock or light mod replacement injectors. Price, service and product all are important.

I appreciate that. I noticed on top it says it's for inline pumps like the p pump so some info will not apply.

Hmmm I don't think that's what that means since the p pump isn't a bosch pump

Up top it says for all inline pumps. The first gen VE pumps are rotary.

As for injectors, if price is first then look at DAP, diesel auto power. There is quite a collection of trucks on here with their injectors now, haven't heard much for complaints yet. I plan on using them when I do mine.

What's the history on the surging problem, how many miles, anything new or old?

Crazy Matt- no spring yet.

tater- I want to retain my orig 4 hole stock units and have them rebuilt and set. Do you think thats a good plan? I read that the 5 holes have a different spray angle for the intercooled cylinder bowls etc. I like non IC trucks because of the earlier powerful stock setup. I just bought the truck and the engine vibrates bad- hence the new injectors. Something is really wrong with I think the fuel sys. Low, 114000 miles, clean truck and stock. The surge sounds like a lack of fuel but it is in fact well supplied. I have bumped the timing, checked ksb- good, swapped one injector from another non ic truck, replaced trans mounts, removed exhaust sys, tried diferent trans positions and idle , neutral park reverse etc. and confirmed good fuel supplied to the VE. Next up is set valve lash, injectors, hopefully not the VE but if nothing else helps....

Thoughts?

Not sure what to say now, didn't notice this was the vibration issue truck. Did you have the injectors out on that?

Any chance its sucking air in?
Does the truck start easy?

Not much help on the nonintercooled injectors, but think there are some options out there with the correct spray angle. Probably a good option to rebuild if you can get a decent price
