Best Source for Custom EDM Injectors

I finally got all the bugs worked out of my new turbo setup, and now plan to work towards some custom injectors.

Who is the leading custom injector shop in the US specific to 1st gens? I'm just trying to get a good idea of who to start with. My plan is to find a 6x16 injector and just turn the pump down, as I think thats way more fuel that I need for my PDR HX-35. However, I would like to buy injectors once.

Any advice or direction? Thanks to everyone for spending the time to read my post.

Jeff

i heard some good things about new era injectors too. i should be ordering a set from them in a week or so. if you are going to get 6x0.16 that would be a custom set from them. they have a few sizes that they normally do then they have there hot/custom injectors.

I'm running a set of New Era 6x.016 edms and love them. You may want more turbo then a hx35. Although, I don't think it will cause any problems.

I am seeing 31 pounds WOT. I have the 12cm housing and the wastegate on it wired shut. I also drilled the divider on it too. I do realize I will reach a point depending on my injector choice to where I'll have to ditch the 12 housing.

My fuel screw is bottomed out and the AFC adjustments are what I consider maxed as well. I do have a piston lift pump that supplies about 15 PSI to the VE. At my current setup with stock injectors I only pull down to about 12 PSI of fuel pressure on a WOT run.

I am wanting to set this truck up as a towing highway rig. Something I can get out with my RV and run 75 on the interstate and still be comfortable. Working on insulating/sound dampening the cab, then I HAVE to work on this rough ride!

Let me know how to fix the rough ride...

I burn about 600 calories just driving a mile back and fourth between work and home. I think I got the front tires off the ground yesterday just hitting a little construction whoop-de-doo in the road I didn't see.

Well, currently the AFC is removed. It was that way when I purchased the pump. I just got my new warrantied pump back from Midwest Fuel Injection. I've got a few things to do to it then it will go on with the AFC. I am not sure how many turns from stock the fuel screw is from stock, but I've got a ways to go before runaway. I can hit 50lbs easy and could prob. go higher if wanted, but don't have the head to handle it. I've now got it set to max at 45psi, but I normally stay around 40-43psi max. I'm getting anxious to swap pumps. I'm tired of no AFC. Anyways, any other questions just ask. Oh, as far as temps go I can max the gauge if wanted, but who cant. I cruise 60mph at 625 - 650*.

Well, our front ends are obviously different, but I just rebuilt everything on mine. New bearings, hubs, brakes, calipers, ball joints, tie-rod ends, idler arm, coil springs, 6 new tires and 4 new shocks. My rear end is the problem, and I am thinking a nice set of airbags should smooth it out enought to satisfy hopefully.

6X.016" Cut by JL Machine. Total cost was 360. They cut my injectors. And I doubt you'll ever even pull 7k with that big of an injector. They are huge compared to what you have now. I would look more at EDMing your's to 6X.012 or .014".

You will need almost stock pump settings to run injectors that size and do any towing.

I am running a set of 6X.018's.

Just so you know, 6x.016s are more than 3 times the total cross sectional area of flow than your stock 6x.009s.

Thanks for everyone for their responses. After going back through my research I realized the 6x18's are more than I need. I think a set of 6x12's would probably suit me better. That said, anyone want to share their recommendations on a shop to call?

If you call asking for 6x12s, they're considered a custom inj, and are going to be over 700 bucks. 435s are usually a 5x14, and are just over $500. He told me that they use 5 and 6 hole tips for 435s depending on what they have available, so you might wind up with 6x12s anyway.
