Suggestions for a new Torque Convertor

Presently have Engine transmission out of my 93 ext cab 4X4, very stock auto transmission, and since it appears to have a rear seal leak, was looking to upgrade TC. Any suggestions would be appreciated i.e. stall speed etc. I am not looking to race it(sorta) or pull sleds, just looking to put more power to the road
Thanks
Paul

Dave Goerend is the man to go to for a 1st Gen Dodge tranny. He has 3 converters for a 518. An 89% for $550. an 89% with a lifetime warranty for $650, and I believe a 91% for $900.

I 2nd the Georend converter. I have one and what a difference. It is so much tighter and you can actually feel the shift without a shift kit.

don't know much about converters or autos for that matter. but georend is the only company i ever read about for automatic components. that's all coming from customers with first hand knowledge and the amount of word of mouth advertising they're getting here says a lot.

I wonder if they are are available up here in the sunny albeit friggin freezing east coast of Canada? Does a higher efficiency = more heat, not bad in the cooler seasons but sumer here is sorta the same as northern states. Thanks all
Paul
PS any ideas where a stock 518 sits as far as stall speeds? As previously mentioned not looking for a sports car, but maybe something that could redden the face of the younger folks and their civics!!

Polecat, a higher efficiency converter to the best of my knowledge would produce less heat because of better fluid coupling in the converter and less "slip," if you will.
The stock converter stall speed is too high for a cummins, that's about all I know for that. I don't know what the actual stall speed is on the stock converter.

I would suggest a Goerend converter or a suncoast. You'll have to order it and get it shipped to you. I don't know if they ship to Canada, they probably do though. If you live fairly close to the US border you could see if there is any border stores state side that take incoming shipments and hold them for you until you pick them up. There is one by me called Ryden's Border Store.

Like everyone else on here I've heard the best things about Goerend and Suncoast. I have an ATS and I'm not impressed! Come tax time I think I'm gonna do some shopping my self!

My SunCoast has been trouble free. I have not been easy on it either.

Sorry about the brain fart, of course less slip = less heat generation, I guess I'll have a chat with the parts place to see whats available, have a DennyT pin coming, and plan on doing a few lil mods to brighten up the day!! Had a fun time locating a frame for the 93, ended up finding one about 20 miles from home, paint still visible, excellent box and workable cab for 1000$. After stripping down mine due to rear frame issues, looked a bit further and found the truck must have been hit a while back ( I have owned it for 7 years) was looking at something and saw pretty new looking "metal" on floor (carpets removed) and nearby areas, nothing like white metal flashing to make things right and solid!. But with donor truck and some patience hopefully will have it mobile with a bow for Christmas!
PS Was the KDP a factory recall? Wondering if the local Mopar dealer would have it in the records.
Thanks
Paul

No. Neither Dodge nor Cummins have accepted any responsibility for the KDP issue.
