I decided to install my new BD exhaust manifold last Monday. Naturally the old bolts fought me all the way to completion. It got late and I was in too much rush and left something under the hood. Whatever it was fell into the fan and trashed it, the shroud and the radiator. Went to MOPAR and found out the fan is discontinued. No luck finding one locally. I do not want electric fans. What could possibly fit in the original fans place with or without the shroud?
Couldn't find one of them either on the salvage yard websites. Got one coming though and a shroud thanks to "Simplysmn"
Put in the new rad today and took her out for a good thrashing. No overheating problems without the fan or shroud. However, it is 30 degrees and windy and no load.
NAPA had the radiator in within 48hours of ordering and it is not the plastic/aluminum garbage they are putting in the newer vehicles.

I got my 2nd Gen fan through one of the Chrysler dealers who sell on E-bay. Arrived in the factory box and everything.
I looked around on E-bay...none for sale right now. I notice they sell things that are more seasonal. So spring and summer they will have the rads, and fan for sale, more then in the winter months.
Glad Simplysmn got you hooked up!

Stupid always hurts,
And cost money,
I worked all day installing my new heater core and evaporator in my truck, finally got finished around 3:00am, had all the tools picked up and went to close the hood, first try it did not close, so I leaned on it again and I felt a crunch, I then realized what I did before I even opened the hood, I had left my cellphone under the hood and I drove the safety latch right through the center of the screen.
It was time for an upgrade anyways.

Carry on...
All is well. New radiator is installed and fan and hub assembly, thanks to "simplysmn", is in the garage waiting for a dry day.
It never pays to get in a hurry. At 65 years too young I would think that I would live by that. NOT!
One thing is certain: As long as I am still breathing, I will make mistakes.
By the way, the BD exhaust manifold seems to help with spool up. I also noticed a reduction of exhaust smoke. EGT's seem the same but I will know more about that after the fan goes back on the engine.

i have been driving with the replacement fan and hub assembly and it seems the EGT's are running slightly lower at cruise speeds and about 1200 max at full throttle for as long as my fear of tickets will allow. So, while it was a little warmer and dry I cranked the fuel up all the way to the stop. After the initial puff of soot she cleared up to a slight haze and EGT's are quite managable.
Oh, it is fun driving again.

I can hit 1250-1300 on a freeway onramp if I am not careful.
Are you saying the lock collar is still on the fuel screw?
Jim
That lock collar was removed the first year I had the truck. The fuel screw is bottomed out as far as it will go. That being said, it is the short version I believe is used in the intercooled pumps. It seems there is a longer one out there that will get you in trouble if you are not careful. I don't have a lot of places close by that allows me to really keep my foot in the throttle for very long. Monday I go to work and will be out in the country where the deer and the foxes get to play. I will have some good numbers then.
