A tighter torque converter will increase fuel mileage a little. Our tanks are 30 gallons with the "Low Fuel" coming on with 5 gallons left. Others may differ at the amount of fuel left but this is what the factory claims.

Aloha,
Matt

Sounds similar to my setup, pulling my jeep I get better milage now than I did stock(11mpg), now much better, that 15MPG sounds good!

Many years ago (in the late '70's) a co-worker had a 1/2 ton Chevy 4wd that really drank the gas. He traded it for a Mazda. He was one of those folks that kept meticulous records of anything and everything.

One day around lunch time he was braggin on his mileage with the new p/u. Every day at lunch, he's change clothes and jog for an hour. Well I took that opportunity when he was gone to add 1 gallon of gas to his truck (we were in the military and could get a little gas from time to time without too much trouble). Promptly forgot about it until the following week when he got real excited that his fuel mileage he jumped to well in the 20's. Well that got me going and for a while I was adding a gallon a day, not enough to move the gauge enough for him to notice but it greatly affect his fuel mileage. At one point he was getting close to 60 miles to the gallon with a Mazda B2000. Everybody at work knew what was going on except for him, we all had a good laugh. He even took it to the Mazda dealer bragging on it. Eventually I got tired of adding gas, slacked off and then stopped entirely, his fuel mileage went down to 18 or so. He even went back to Mazda complaining about poor fuel mileage, they rebuilt the carburetor and sent him on his way.

Good joke and good for many laughs.

Are you sure no one is doing you like that?
