stock steel wheel width?

My truck's at the injector shop (so I can't go look for myself), and the first thing I have to do when I pick it up is buy new tires. What is the width of the steel wheels that came on these trucks? You know, the reeeaaallllyy nice looking grey ones that had the, oh so nice, hub cabs.

Oh, I'm also wondering if anybody has put 265/75-16's on them, and whether or not the sidewall was too rounded due to the wheel being too narrow. I'm not sure if I should go stock 235/85-16's or if I should try a set of the 265's.

Thanks.

I think there 7" wide. if not than 6". Ive seen some guys run some pretty big meats on narrow rims. the old days everyone said no!!!!!!!!!!. Now you see desert race trucks running 35s on 8" wide rims, the idea being more sidewall out of the line of fire from rocks and sharps.

7 inches wide. I run 265/75's for plowing in the winter. Looks good. For summer it's 305/85's.

6" wide on my truck. Check your door jam placard when you get her back. According to tire manufacturers, 235 mm is the widest tire recommended on a 6” rim. You can go bigger, but with the sidewalls sucked in you might have excessive wear down the center of the tread.

Yeah, with a 6" wide rim, I wouldn't run anything other than a 235/85-16. A 245/75-16 would probably work fine, however the overall diameter is slightly less.
