This is what all I did. Installed a steering stabilizer, had the new tires re-balanced and had the best installed on the front end.

did you just loosen up the nuts or did you psyically move the trans ?

I put a jack under the back of the transfer case and took weight off the crossmember.

I pulled out the two mounts.

I looked at the alignment and remembered I had to use a pry bar to get the mount holes lined up, so I took out the bolts that hold the upper mount to the transmission.

I elongated the holes on the top mount so that everything would bolt back together without binding or being persuaded.

I then cleaned everything up, installed all four bolts loosely and then tightened them up.

I didn't use a cheater pipe to tighten the mount bolts all the way, like I did last time, but I did leave them tight.

It seemed to really help.

Just thinking out loud here, but you mentioned two things that caught my ear. 1. that it revs up smooth until it hits the govenor, try replacing the 3200 spring with the stock spring. and 2. that you had to use a pry bar to align the tranny mounts, maybe the rear driveshaft is out of alignment either right to left or up to down (think pinion angle). Try pulling the rear shaft and drive in 4 HI with just the front shaft. If you can't find out what it is, eliminate what it isn't.

Thanks for the ideas, Yorel!

I was actually thinking of doing both of those...will have to find some time and do it. The 3200 spring seems like a total waste when I'm scared to ever rev that high anyhow...

Awhile back you mentioned bending the lines a bit. Is it possible there's a flattened spot in the line that could restrict the high pressure flow to the injector? Just a WAG as you've done everything else I could think of.

It's possible, and I'll definitely take a look next time I'm under the hood.

Thanks!

I don't think it has anything to do with the drive lines because it happens in neutral with the clutch in or out. Gotta be the pump, or pump related.
