3rd times a charm: Pulling tranny AGAIN to track down a vibration

Hey folks,

So, it took me a little over an hour this time, but the tranny/transfercase/crossmember are all sitting on an ATV jack back by the rear axle.

I've had a vibration since I did my swap. Not 100% sure it's in the clutch area, but it makes sense.

I was hoping you guys could throw some things to check at me while I have it apart.

Things I know to check:

Input shaft on tranny isn't sloppy (check)
Pilot bushing looks ok?
Flywheel is flat and round?
Pressure Plate is good?
Engine Adapter plate is on straight?

Not really sure how to check the adapter plate, but I think it was Phillip made that sound pretty important.

Anyway, anything anyone can throw out at me to check would be a great help. I wanna put this back together tomorrow AM, so I've got some time to tool around out there...and I DO NOT WANT to do this a 4th time.

Also, and this may be unrelated...but I just started the truck and it's like 30 degrees outside (truck is dead cold) and my fan is spinning full-tilt. Should the fan be on like that?

My fan runs full blast when its cold until I drive it about a block. My fan clutch is new so i'm guessing thats normal behavior.

Roger that...thanks.

Almost have it back together...switched out pressure plate and seems to be better...everything else looked good.

Stupid alignment and reconnecting the trans to the engine is a pain in the nuts!

And it's mated back together. Whew. I hate that part!

Unfortunately I can't get it all the way together and give it a test until tomorrow. Stupid work...always getting in the way!

So, I ended up putting the original Sachs back in, clutch and pressure plate.

Good news: The vibration is totally gone.

Bad news: The clutch slips.
