STILL NO SPEEDO!!! or OD

OK, imgetting a little bit frustrated. New Vss, Rebuilt computer, still nothing. All connections are clean. I am looking at a wireing schematic and seeing the OD lockout switch could interupt both. But mopar discontinued the switch. Is there anyone out there who repops that switch? Also Im seeing an overdrive control module. and also not available. I already know my speedo is fine. Works like is should, have tested with speedo tester from kent moore tools.

any ideas guys???

Hook a meter to the vss wires, block your front wheels and jack it up. run it in gear and see if you are getting a voltage from the vss.
The gear drive between the trans and vss can fail. The square drives on the assembly can round out.
Hope this helps

BTW do you have a 91, or 91.5?

If it is the high temp cut out you can unplug it and jump the two wires together and it will work.

I have raised on a hoist, and ran rear wheels, the gear is turning. Onemoparnut, Which plug is the high temp cut out?

Must be the orange with black tracer, and the red with white tracer on it.

And its a 91.5

I found an 89 for parts, but I dont think any parts on it will help me. This ones missing the engine, and its cheap.

An 89 does not have od so that would be no help in this case. The high temp cut out is in the trans cooler line coming out of the trans. It is on the driver side of the trans near the shift linkage.

The high temp switch will lock out OD, but it has nothing to with the speedo working or not.
I still don't have the overdrive working on the factory system. When I got the truck, the speedo read 10 mph low. Turned out the gear adaptor on the transfer case was missing. The VSS was screwed directly into the case. Once I got an adapter installed, speedo reads right, cruise started working, but no OD.

It's on a switch now. Probably gonna do the pressure switch OD fix soon.

I have raised on a hoist, and ran rear wheels, the gear is turning.
Did you unplug the VSS. check with a voltmeter, and see if it is producing voltage?

Well guys I got it fixed tonight. I just basically got ****** and started ohming every wire. I havent had a water in fuel, or wait to start light come on, and I honestly thought it was because of the 90-100 degree weather weve been having. Well nope, the fuseable link powering that part of the truck also was the power to the cluster. The reason my cluster tester worked is because it had its own power source. So I just quick wired a fuse inn that circuit, and poof, I have speedo, OD, and cruise again!! I noticed with the new computer that the od came on a little better, before it didnt come inn till way past 60mph, now its in the 45-55 mph zone, and is more load sensative. Super stoked I have it fixed. Now I can get the truck sold and get my 440 powered ramcharger done.
