Power Steering Brace
i've taken 4 of those off of junk yard trucks and every one of them is cracked/broken where it bolts to the front crossmember. it was a bandaid fix by dodge(imagine that) and I put little value on it. that's why all 4 i've welded and sold to people that do.

it's easy to beat that brace. plating and/or boxing the frame. running a brace from one frame rail across to the other, reverse rotation steering gear, crossover steering, all better options. not to mention the ridiculous price they are asking for them now.

I'm confused.

Is this a problem for only 4wd trucks or does it affect the 2nd also?

Only 4wd. 2wd bolts directly to the frame.

This is excellent advice. My truck was bought new by my dad and the OEM bracket cracked at about 40k miles. He had it welded which worked fine but I later discarded the welded unit, thinking a new one from Ma Mopar was better. I now wish I had kept it .
