Starter options
My starter is beginning to die.
The truck is having some occasional hard starts, and it sounds like a weak battery, which is the sign of things to come.
The starter that's in there is some parts store chinese reman that's about 10 years old.
It's actually the 2nd one as the first reman I got lasted a month or so and I had to swap it on warranty.
So I'd like to get one the isn't a reman piece of junk.
As I search the interwebs outside of the parts stores the only thing I see consistently is the Mean Green unit.
They state made in the USA.
It's spendy, and I don't mind putting up the extra money if it's a quality piece that will last.
What do you guys think?

Alternators and starters I buy new whenever possible. They die too abruptly and completely to tempt fate more than necessary.
I do not care where they are made. No domestic option for Canada, and genuine Cummins parts are made in China now.

Is a new Mean Green at $400 that much better than a new $180 Duralast from Autozone?
I'm all about supporting a local company, but not if it doesn't add some value.
Course the starter doesn't get used much, 1/2 spin and the engine starts...
