Good luck on a 16, your option is a ratio adapter.

speedometer gear
When I went to the N V 4500, my speedometer was off by 15 mph. I bought a new speed sensor and ordered a ratio adapter from P.A.T.C. Speed Shop. After installation, the speedometer did not work at all and disassembly revealed the adapter pin between the ratio adapter and the speedometer gear was broken. The stub is now jammed down in the gear assembly and don't know how to get it out. I have tried parts shops, junk yards, plus the local dealer with no luck.

Unscrew it from the transfer case so you can work on it. Soak it with some good penetrating oil over night. Turn it over and smack it against a piece of wood or something and see if it moves. If you can't get it loose you will have to drill it out. So far I've been able to fish all mine out with a dental pick.
