Every once in a while when I start my truck and pull away the speedo, cruise and overdrive dont work. Then I drive few a few miles and it all starts working again. Where should I start?

(VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor).

 

I'm with these guys. Same thing happened to my truck. Pull the VSS and clean it, and the connections, then put it back and try it.

By the way, you've got a beautiful truck.

 

I had a similiar problem with my 93'. I found out that the speedo pinion drive on the transfer case had stripped out. Basically the "squared hole" had rusted and rounded off over years of use. This caused the male shaft to spin and slip inside the rounded hole. I ended up using JB weld to fix it. This problem came back to haunt me several times. I replaced the VSS, installed a potentiometer in place of the TPS, and also bought a new speedo gear ratio reducer adapter. These parts seemed to help, but the problem always came back. I finally figured it out as explained above. So far, so good.........
