Speed-o-meter

So I just bought a new speed sensor and installed it into my freshly rebuild transfer case. I was having issues with the old one where the needle on my dash would bounce from 20mph to 80mph and pretty much all over the place.

Installed the new sensor and guess what? Nothing.. thought the wires might have been hooked up wrong so I switch them around and still nothing. Thinking maybe the wires are bad. Where do those wires go, assuming into the engine bay. Anything else I should check?

Others who know more may chime in, but I belive the wires go to the pcm located in the driver side fender by the battery and horns, the sticky has info on how to test it. Also check the plastic gear inside the transfer case, even though its freshly rebuilt, the plastic gears are junk, and check the gears on the speedo is self, info in the sticky as well.

I have an electrical tester, maybe the new sensor I picked up doesn't work at all. Is there anyway I can pull readings from it?

The way I did it is probably not right but it worked for me. I took a drill and hooked it to the speed sensor and hooked the speed sensor to the truck and powered it while watching the speedo and it cranked up to 95 mph and stayed steady, im not sure what kind of reading to look for from an electrical tester, but mine toled me that both sensors i had were working. Maybe some done who knows why to look for will speak up.

not a bad idea, I'll have to get some duck tape and try that!

I think it's shot, not getting anything out of it. I might have toasted it trying to install the transfer case. Is there any special way the wires needs to go? I have a new plug so I'm just going to get another one ordered.

The blue wire is on the bottom, with the clip faceing the front of the truck
