We went to California last weekend to get it. Coming back I told him to stretch it's legs and see what she'll do, and in moments had to tell him to let out because we were going 140 and still pulling hard!
It sucks, because 12K can get you a car that would outrun almost all the "Muscle" cars I have owned.
But I hate little cars!

I can still out drive my son and would beat him in a race from a roll, but I can't match his top end without getting my gear vendors fixed!

i had a srt-4 before the truck that had 550hp and would run mid 11s.. It would have been faster in the 1/4 mile but i did not get traction until 4th gear.

Everyone around here has either a mustang....cobra. Or an STI WRX SRT4 EVO They are all in the same crowd who think they have the fastest cars on earth... That being said i don't think anyone has broken the 11.00 mark... Between street/bald tires and shift misses im surprised they out ran my friends mustang to 13.00... Me on the other hand have always had big bulky vehicles with enough torque to roast a set of tires and not much else.

Where I grew up, we all had Vortech'd GTs, Cobras, N20 z28s and we really didnt care what we ran in the 1/4. Everything was door to door, run what you brung, 3 honks and go to 150 mph runs. Did we have the fastest cars on earth?? No.. but just cuz some of us werent in the 11s ( although a couple of us were, on ET streets ) we had some nasty fast cars. I must say though, an 11 second pass is a lot easier when I can launch my 05 in 4wd. Used to have to peddle the mustang like a tricycle after each shift.

I've had a caprice cop car, MarkVIII and my truck. Nobody has pulled away from me up until about 80... that being said i'd start pulling ahead in the markVIII after 100. Nobody will drive more than 120 around here because its not smart. I've hit 135 on an empty highway at 2AM just to see how high my gps goes.

Yeah we used to run the interstates and sawgrass at like 2 in the morning back in South Florida. I wouldnt do 140+ on a public road again but when your 19 you dont always make excellent choices. That said.. street racing is dangerous but we have all done it at one point or another.

I had a 95 9C1 with mild work done and LOVED that car, never should have sold it My GPS shows what the all time max speed was and itsays 253MPH, (don't ask me how)..

Fastest I have done to date was on my street bike and the last glance I took at the speedo it said 167 MPH shortly after that I let out of it.. Bike had more in it it seemed but I didnt... haha 167+ is FAST esp. with the pavement only inches away....

Guys your thinking about these little cars all wrong. Ask them If they want to race with a 15k trailer hooked up, you will win everytime!

just remember your lug nuts have more torque than their cars do. And what happens when ya need to pull something, or pull someone out of the mud or snow, Your truck will be there everytime. I don't know about you guys, but i feel a lot more safe in my truck, When i get in my 97 sentra, i just feel small and low on the food chain. I mean if i were to hit a deer or someone else, I would definatly be toast in the little car, but not so much in my truck, they'd have 6 mean cylinders to go through!!!
