Someone needs to open a diesel shop ..
In my town! This is ridiculous .. I moved and no longer have a garage so I was looking to have a local shop install my 3200 gov. spring. My local Dodge dealership quoted me 6 hours @ $90hr! DDP which is a 4 hour drive from me sends theirs away to a pump shop for ~$450 quoted plus my truck down for four days .. and I love those guys! No other diesel shop would even touch it. Guess I'll just do it in the rain one of these days

Yeah, I did mine in my driveway too. Though it took a little longer than 2 hours since I stopped halfway to buy the seal replacement kit. Ended up staining my driveway when the diesel fuel dropped out of the pump when I opened it. Call it a performance casualty.

If one were to pay to have it done, 75-100 bucks would be fair. That should envolve putting the 3200 spring in, removing the lock collar from the fuel screw. turning it up a turn or so if they want. Cleaning up all the threads on the idle screws, rotaing the fuel pin and moving the throttle to the inside.. That's usally what I do for guys and I charge 100 bucks.. 90 per hr would be nice, but not realistic.. I'm surprised a Dodge dealership would even say they would do it.. Most of the dealerships around here won't touch a 12v unless the can plug the computer into it. Kinda sad

Heck the last one that I did took me less than 1 hour and that was showing the other member how it was done, intercooled engines take a bit longest because you have to take off a bit more to get to the pump but still not that bad.
I can have the top off my pump within a matter of about 15 minuets.

Or do what I do steal ur best buddies diesel shop to work on ur own personal stuff or other friends trucks.
Today I started on my buddies 93. Head gasket if puking water out the front. Pulled the head off tonite. Then I getta surface it, port it, surface it and put it all back together. Rad has to get rodded, kdp and a gov spring.
Of course the collar on the pump is going to be mia.
