Some rough numbers

A few people have asked what the lift numbers and the 1/8" bump equate into actual number of degrees so, I did some research in what documents I could find and perusing old threads on a number of forums and came up with the following. Keep in mind some or most of my number are not verified. At least they are a place to start.

Cummins engine VE pump timing: (unverified)
1.25mm pump lift = 12.5° stock intercooled (1.4mm stock non intercooled)
2.4mm additional pump lift (advance) = 21° - 22°
M&H timing spacer increases to 6.4mm advance = 31° - 32°

1mm pump rotation = 1° timing (verified Cummins service manual)
1 tooth on drive gear = 5° translates into 10° timing (verified by counting the teeth and doing the math)
1/8" bump = 3.175° (mathematical equivalent to 1mm=1°)

If anyone can come up with some verified numbers, please post them with the source of the information.

Thanks again Cougar... Just 1 thing.

1/8"=.125"

.125*25.4= 3.17500mm (3.175 degrees then)

If you jump the pump gear it will change the timing 10* per tooth. This is because the cam and pump run at half the crankshaft speed.

Yup. I keep saying it; 72 teeth on the pump timing gear, at half the crank speed is the equivalent of 36 teeth, (72/2). 36 teeth, mulitplied by 10° = 360°, or one revolution... confused?
