So that's what these truck are for...
New pic in my gallery of my new to me fiver. It's gonna serve as temp living quarters while building my house over the next year or so. I was expecting the worst towing, but she's like a freight train with wheels---pulled great! I'll never pull bumper pull anything again, if I can avoid it---even without training wheels the whole rig was extremely stable at 55 through the hills. Pyro took me down to about 40 on the steep hills, but my timing is still way back, so that'll change soon. The fiver is 7200 pounds on the title, but I'm thinking closer to 8k with all the stuff in it. Anyway, thought ya'll would like to see a crusty old first gen at work!

With your current fueling the 12 cm housing will help a lot with EGT. Advancing the timing will help a bit too, but it's going to hurt spoolup with the 18.5 housing. The 12 cm spools so well that advance doesn't seem to hurt it any.
Thanks for the info dave
Can't wait to try the 12!

Hard to beat a cool old camper for low buck adventure! Got the rig and a serious 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch for $1500! So far, everything works, including the A/C. Five new tires and years of records...still couldn't keep the water away, but I've only got about a weeks worth of work to get her up to snuff.
