Smoke screw

So I had my smoke screw sealed with some rtv for about 3 years now so it would quit backing itself out. I popped my hood last night and noticed it was gone. It had to of been in the last 2 days. Now my question is how bad is it to drive without it until I find a bolt that will fit? Will it screw up anything or just loose some boost on the fuel pin?

i dont think it will hurt anything... you're just going to be lacking some power that you had before.

Yeah it deffinatily lost some power. Thats what made me pop my hood to see what was going on. I had a loss of power at higher speeds and trying to pass people yesterday.

Essentially a boost leak. Cut a bolt short and plug it or just fill it with silicone to seal it off again .

It's basically like having a premanent valet switch, which is no fun Not sure on the threads, but you could just pop the afc top off in the parking lot of your local hardware store, take it in and match it up. All the smoke screws I've seen had a lock nut as well to hold the position...
