Smoke after I shift

Just got my nv4500 swap done in my 92 w250.

Been driving around and notice alot more smoke after I up shift to the next gear.

Can I adjust the pump to clear this up?

If so, how?

Thanks in advance.

Was it an automatic or manual before the swap?

It was an auto.

With the auto when I got on it, I would have a little haze. Now with the 5 speed it is pretty dark.

The auto had a lot of slippage so I'm thinking my turbo was spooling quicker= less smoke.

First, back off the smoke screw. If that doesn't clear it up to your liking, run the star wheel up a few turns at a time until you are satisfied.

You lose a lot more RPM's between shifts in a manual under normal driving conditions. Lower RPMs can equal more lug, lower boost, more smoke.

You can easily adjust pump settings and driving habits for smoke free shifting.

Thanks for the tips. This will be this weekends project.

I must say, this is totally different truck with the nv4500. Runs great.

I installed a nv4500 into my 1968 Bronco
back in 1996. Best improvement I ever made.
