Sig update...(edm's)

Well, my turbo is now worthless and so is my 40psi boost gauge, but for some reason, I can't wipe this silly grin off my face EDM's came priority this afternoon (thanks again, Bill) The sun was just going down as I finished the install, so I've only gone around the block, but that's all it took to realize that STOCK SUCKS! My idle is dead smooth now, which I'm admittedly fussy about. No haze, but these aren't big sticks, either. Off idle power is quite a bit more snappy. Cruise egt's are similar, except when pulling hills at low rpms (55 in 5th), where now the pyro doesn't climb near as fast. Whatever size these are supposed to be (DonM, have you checked your PM's?), they take my 400k stockers to town With my 40psi gauge pegged there was no cleaning up the fog of a 4th gear roll on and the truck pulls much harder from 2500 on up That's it in a nutshell till I get some more miles on her...

Sounds pretty sweet. These are 7mm injectors right?

They're the ones Bgilbert (Bill) had in the classifieds. According to his classified ad, they're stock (non-i/c) +25hp, made by DonM. I sent Don a PM about them...haven't heard back, but he's a busy guy, so I'm not too worried. I guess he (Bill) picked them up on trade, but he just had some big 'ol Schieds 6-hole edm's made for his truck. I'm VERY happy with them so far. The truck pulls so much harder from 2500 on up...I'm starting to see how restrictive stock nozzles can be, and how hard that could potentially be on the VE.

Glad to hear you like them so far. I'll be interested to hear how they do after you've driven them some time. Make sure its not just like a placebo. Stock non-intercooled tips are 4 hole. Stock IC'd tips are 6 hole, but flow considerably less than the 4 hole nonIC'd sticks. This is a 5 hole 9mm tip. I talked to the previous owner earlier today and he said Don supposively started with a blank 9mm tip and edm'd 5 holes. Once you relearn how to drive it and get all the hot roddin out of your system you should see a mpg gain.

Good luck getting anywhere with Don~ . A member in Ohio was gonna buy these off me, PM'd Don and was told they are SMALL compared to a POD . If he knew the flow numbers of 1st gen stock 9mm tip vs 1st gen stock 7mm tip vs POD's he'd know that these are close to POD's in flow numbers. Either way, enjoy the mpg's and 'maybe' some increased performance.

Glad to hear you got 'em in, Greg. Watch that boost gauge, you don't want to swap head gaskets in the winter, do you?

You gotta get that thing on a dyno.

Well, whatever the details are on the injectors, they're far and away better than what I had in there, both in manners and in performance. Well worth the investment for how I use the truck The little H1C comp wheel is probably my saving grace now...with a decent wheel I'd be in it for a head gasket soon, I'm sure. I'll have to loosen the turbo-master up and watch the gauge for now.

If you can scare up a factory style wastegate actuator, the drilled housing will let you keep boost down below 35 psi. The TurboMaster doesn't let enough exhaust flow past to keep the boost down on a heavily fueled engine. Ask Swank if he's done with the one I sent him.
