and so did our 92 w250, both had perfectly straight sticks.

You never know, someone could have bent the stick before you bought the truck, these trucks are old and go through alot over the years...

It has been my observation that if the stick simply screws onto a threaded stub, then you get the straight stick; and, if the stick sandwiches with a mating stub from the transmission, being held together by two bolts, then you got the factory two-bends stick.

It has also been my observation that the threaded stub is far more apt to break off than the bolted one, and I have seen every kind of repair imaginable; my cousins has had a 1/2"-drive socket welded where the stub used to be, then a mating square drive drilled and pinned to that.

That's just the camera angle. It actually bends back out from the dash at the top and give me plenty of room. That pic is in the 'ODD" gears.

Here's a shot for the "even" gears.

ofcmarc I see now. It just looked that way, thought you had busted knuckles when you got into a hurry. Just read where you live 14 miles north of way too cold. Glad it's you I'm a warm weather guy. When it gets less than 60 here the lizard comes out in me, I don't move to fast. We get a few 20/30 degree days and i'm miserably cold. Your truck looks good, I need to bend my shifter a little bit 5th is way over yonder.

I like the way a NV4500 stick is bent in a 2nd gen.
