service body on lifted truck?

I'm thinking about putting a service body on my w250 with a 6" lift. I've looked for pictures of anyone else who's done it but found mostly flatbeds at stock ride hieght. What do yall think about the idea? any pics of lifted trucks with service bodies or even flatbeds would be appreciated. thanks

Well don't expect to have a 6inch lift anymore after putting a service bed on. Sorry no pics but I think they look cool

Good point, I'm hoping to get the factory rear springs off a donor truck and fab up some new spring mounts to get the lift back but have the weight capacity of the factory springs. thanks for the post

How heavy of a load do you haul? If your loaded like my service truck it will be top heavy and sway alot. I carry alot of tools and have an air compressor in a 02 chevy dual wheel cab and chassis and it doesn't corner very well. Just something to think about before you do it and possibly not like it.

honesty, i don't really plan to use it as a service truck. I'll put the stuff that is in my aluminum tool box into the service body, and mount a compressor as low as i can in one of the boxes, but most of my tools will stay at work. I mostly want to do it because my bed is pretty well shot and I want to do something different. thanks for the thoughts

I was digging through old posts and I found yours. Here's a lifted 75 with a service box on it. I know it's a little late but here you go.http://www.mopartruckparts.com/gallery/g077.html

I have seen some engine mounted compressors... maybe look into one of those and mount a tank beneath the truck and plumb in some couplings in all corners of the truck.

haha, better late than never. That truck looks pretty cool, just the kind of pics i was looking for. I just saw a gear drive compressor on ebay recently and it caught my eye, but money is always an issue. thanks for the input

you could put a flatbed on it with the underbed toolboxes. My grandpa has those boxes under his flatbed and they are nice. He's even got a 30 gallon fuel tank under there. And with a 6" lift you would have plenty of room under there. just a thought
