Yeah, it's a cab and chassis. It is a unique flat bed but I have a feeling the regular bed will look unique as well. I plan to try and locate a SRW bed and use a section out of the front half to stretch the DRW bed. Much like TRENDZ is doing right now...

I'd say the cab and chassis frames with 159" WB are slightly longer than a club cab frame judging by the picture I posted above. There would probably still be a decent gap between the cab and bed if a club cab was swapped on.

There's a chance I may not cut it to lengthen it, Darwin. If nothing else, I'll build a panel to fit between the cab and bed once the bed's in place.

Picked it up today and brought it home!

My wheel bases on my long box SRW crewcab is about 168" or 14 feet!!

That box looks great Jimbo. Would be sad to see it cut up...but then again it's your truck and you can do as you please.

It's not permanent but at least I can store it on the '91.5 in the meantime .

I tried to knock the price down for this little issue. This is from the weight of the bed that was stacked on top of mine at the shop I bought it from (you can clearly see this in the first 2 pictures I posted). The guy swore it wasn't him and that it could have only come from the owner of the truck since he had a fifth wheel trailer and wouldn't even budge on the price. Oh well, not worth arguing with someone who's that hard headed.

I've been working on mine a bit lately. I know alot of you will get down on me about the fenders... Being non traditional and all, but it's mine and I'm non traditional!!! Really it fits good now and I'm getting ready for bodywork/paint. The open gaps on the lower sections are going to have stainless steel steps/ inset running boards. Partially because I want a sturdy frame mounted "fender bash gaurd", but also because I could not figure out a good way to transition the fenders into the box with all those curves down there. Just kinda hiding my faults in plain sight.

I'm diggin what you've done! I really like those fenders you made too!! That's gonna be a sharp, unique looking truck! I'm still debating on whether to cut mine and section in a piece from another bed but that all depends on if I can find another one to use. Ever since I saw your truck in the first stage of the swap, I've had that same idea in my head. Did you fabricate panels to fill the gap in the bed after you cut it?

Yeah, all the parts were fabbed. the floor was the worst part with all those ribs. I'm taking it to LINE-X to cover up some of the slop of putting it back together. I'm also adding heavy plates in the corners of the floor to mount some flush mount "D" rings for tying things down in the bed.

wonder if you can take a measurement and let me know how wide the stock fenders are. i have a cab & chassis with a flatbed and am considering taking it off at some point in the future. it would be nice to know how far they stick out from the bed. thanks.
